Bring Fido for a Bath!

Members of the church Jamaica Mission Team will be washing dogs of all sizes and breeds Saturday, July 18, 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. on the church grounds.  Donations will be accepted for the church’s mission trip to Jamaica next June.  The church sends a mission team to My Father’s House in Whitehouse, Jamaica every two years.  My Father’s House, a part of Kingdom Builders Ministry, is a home for abandoned and orphaned Jamaican children and is run by Jim and Penie Koch, former residents of Anderson Township.  During their trip to Jamaica, the team will put on a Vacation Bible School for the children in the Whitehouse community, help with repairs and upkeep at the orphanage, take on a community project, and spend time interacting with the children at My Father’s House one-on-one.  The church hopes to send at least thirty members on this trip.  For more information on the work at My Father’s House, visit www.jaminjamaica.com.

Everyone Loves a Parade

In what has become a church tradition, Clough will be participating in the July 4th Anderson Township Parade to celebrate “Hometown Pride”, this year’s theme.  The parade begins at 11 a.m. and makes its way along Beechmont Avenue.  Clough children will be riding on the church float while adults walk along passing out popsicle sticks and flyers for Crocodile Dock Vacation Bible School.  All ages are welcome to participate!  Wear red, white and blue or a Clough tee-shirt and plan to meet in the church parking lot at 9:30 a.m.  For more details, contact Kim Kollmann at 231-1275.

Flight School 2009 – July 5 – 10

Sixteen teens and six leaders and chaperones from the Youth Group are travelling to Copperhill, Tennessee to be part of Flight School 2009, a special mission trip.  Flight members will participate in various mission projects, work on team building, and learn leadership skills.  Mission projects include a Habitat Project which focuses on those in the Copperhill community who need home repairs, a Humanitarian Project which involves personal interaction with families and with the elderly, an Environmental Project which helps teens learn more about God’s blessings in nature, and an Appalachian Homestead Project which involves beginning construction on a building site.  The youth have been working hard to raise money for this trip and are excited to learn new skills they can utilize at Clough and in Anderson Township once they return home. They hope to grow closer to the Lord and to each other while serving in the Copperhill community.
