Youth

Clough UMC  is blessed with a dynamic youth ministry.  You will find our youth and their leaders actively participating in the front rows at every service.  Our youth members have developed a passion for serving God and the community.  This passion has been demonstrated in many ways, including a mission trip to My Father's House in Jamaica, serving at City Gospel Mission, several work days helping our facilities team, and many Help is On the Way projects.

The youth group regularly holds meetings during the school year from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM on Sundays.  These meetings include a lunch served and provided by a rotating group of adult volunteers.  Special activities and meetings during the summer are posted on the calendar of events.

"Carry the Cross" 2010

The Youth Group joined with youth groups from Cherry Grove UMC, Mt. Moriah UMC, and Summerside UMC to carry the cross for a 24 hour period starting at noon on Good Friday, April 2.  Each youth group carried the cross for a 6 hour period to identify with the suffering of Christ at the crucifixion and to raise money for Elberon UMC in Price Hill through sponsors.  The Clough Youth started at midnight and carried the cross until 6 a.m.

Help is On the Way

The youth are eager to use the home maintenance and repair skills they learned at Flight School 2009 in Copperhill, Tennessee.  They are establishing Help is On the Way (HOW) to support those who need some help maintaining the upkeep of their homes.   The teens are eager and willing to take on tasks such as raking leaves, cleaning gutters, painting, and working on minor home repairs.  Contact Roselyn Sutherland (831-9302) if you could use HOW.

Skyline Chili Days
