"24 Hours That Changed the World" Small Groups

 

Small groups will be meeting weekly February 21 thru April 4 to watch a DVD based on the weekly sermon topic followed by discussion.  These small groups provide the opportunity for people to delve deeper into the topic while forming closer relationships with other members of the Clough family. Small groups are open to new members throughout the series.  The schedule of small group meeting times and the leader(s) are listed below.  Please contact the small group leader for more information if you would like to attend a small group session.

Churches 4 Change

During the season of Lent, Clough UMC will be joining with 3 other Methodist churches - Cherry Grove UMC, Mt. Moriah UMC, and Summerside UMC - in a journey of faith thru "24 Hours That Changed the World".  All 4 churches will be following the same series of sermons, reading the accompanying daily devotional, and meeting in weekly small groups.  The churches will come together to raise funds for "Bibles and Breakfast" ministries at Elberon UMC in Price Hill.  Elberon needs money to purchase Bibles for their children's ministry and to buy food for their breakfast program which feeds 250 people, mostly children and families, every week.  The 4 youth groups will participate in a "Carry the Cross" event and churches will meet at noon in Veteran's Park for a Good Friday service. Bob Evans Fundraiser

Churches 4 Change - Join with members of Cherry Grove UMC, Mt. Moriah UMC, and Summerside UMC to raise funds for "Bibles and Breakfast" ministries at Elberon UMC in Price Hill.  Elberon is in need of money to purchase Bibles for their children's ministry and to buy food for the 250 people, mostly children and families, that they feed every week thru their breakfast ministry.  Simply come and eat at the Bob Evans Restaurant in Cherry Grove, 510 Ohio Pike, from 6 a.m. - 9 p.m. any or all of the following Tuesdays and Wednesdays - March 2&3,9&10,16&17,23&24.  Turn in your Bob Evans flyer from the Sunday bulletin and "Bibles and Breakfast" will receive 15% of your order.  You will need a new flyer each time you participate in this fundraiser.  Plan a meal, or several, at Bob Evans with family, friends, or your small group.  Distribute flyers to all your contacts.  No flyers may be distributed on site at the restaurant.  This is an easy way to support our sister church Elberon and a great opportunity to fellowship. Family Fun Night

Come and join your friends at the first Clough Family Game Night Saturday, March 20, 5:00p.m. - 8:00 p.m.  An evening of fun for the whole family is being planned!  Enjoy a variety of board games, corn hole, Wii competitions and more.  Pizza and drinks will be provided.   Bring an appetizer or a dessert to share and get ready to have a great time.  For more information contact Heather Marotti (388-9511) or Jennifer Earls (232-3150).

 

"It All Happened in the City"

 

 

Sunday, March 21 at 7:00 p.m. - The Clough Children's Choir will present their special musical verson of the Easter story in "It All Happened in the City".  The choir consists of children in the first thru the sixth grade and is conducted by Robin Wilson.  All are welcome to this Easter season event.  No admission. 

 

 

 

Easter Eggstravaganza!

Clough United Methodist Church is celebrating Easter by inviting children three years old through sixth graders and their parents/guardians to its annual Easter Egg Hunt on Sat., March 27 at 10 a.m.  The hunt will be held on the church grounds at 2010 Wolfangel Road in Anderson Township.  In case of rain, activities will be moved inside.  The children can visit with the Clough Clowns and participate in a drawing for special prizes.  The children will be divided into age groups for the actual egg hunt.  Parents/guardians are encouraged to bring cameras for photo opportunities at the special Easter backgrounds the church is providing.  Children should bring their Easter baskets for the hunt.  All children must be accompanied by a parent/guardian.  The event is free.  Donations of canned food will be accepted for the Food Bank of the Inter Parish Ministries in Newtown. 

 

"The Passion"

 

In conjuction with the lenten series "24 Hours That Changed the World", the Mel Gibson movie "The Passion" will be shown in the sanctuary Wednesday, March 31 at 6:30 p.m.  This movie is rated R due to sequences of graphic violence.  Nursery care will be provided for children 2 and under.  Activites will be provided for children in pre-school thru 6th grade.
